Wave Rock is like a breaking wave frozen in time. Adding to the illusion are stripes on the rock, with streaks of gray, orange, yellow, and brown.
It is the northern face of a larger outcrop of granite named Hyden Rock, which is about 2.7 billion years old. The slope was formed by weathering and erosion over millions of years.
