Another of many beautiful bays part of The Bay of Fires. The orange lichen on the granite boulders makes such a beautiful contrast.
Contrary to what one would think the Bay of Fires did not get its name from the orange lichen but from an English navigator Tobias Furneaux in 1773 when he saw fires burning along the coast, lit by Tasmanian Aboriginal people. They call it Larapuna.
